Nestled in a leafy nature you will find Rånäs Castle by Lake Skedviken. The castle is internationally close to both Stockholm, Uppsala and Arlanda airport. By car, you can reach the manor quickly and easily from Stockholm (around 50 mins), Uppsala (around 45 mins) and Stockholm Arlanda Airport (around 35 mins).
From Stockholm:
Take the E18 north towards Norrtälje and after around 40 km, at Roslagsstoppet service station, take the turning towards Rimbo and Hallstavik (route 280). After 6 km look out for signs to Rimbo/Hallstavik. After another 6 km, turn right into Rimbo centre, towards Osthammar/Hallstavik, route 280. After 2 km take a left towards Knutby/Rånäs. Drive past the first manor, Ekebyholm, and continue for another 5 km. You will see Rånäs Slott between the works buildings.
From Northern Greater Stockholm:
Take the E4 north towards Arlanda, turn off at Arlanda and follow signs to Almunge, route 273. At the roundabout to route 77, turn right towards Norrtälje. 3 km after Gottröra, turn left towards Rånäs. After 10 km turn right and you will arrive at Rånäs Slott.
From Arlanda:
Take route 273 towards Almunge/Norrtälje. At the roundabout to route 77, turn right towards Norrtälje. 3 km after Gottröra, turn left towards Rånäs. After 10 km, turn right and you will see the beautiful manor house. Please bear in mind that the route between Gottröra and Rånäs may take a little longer during the winter months.
From Uppsala:
Take the E4 south towards Stockholm, turn off at the Knivsta exit and turn left towards Norrtälje/Rimbo on route 77. 3 km after Gottröra, turn left towards Rånäs. After 10 km, turn right and you will arrive at Rånäs Slott.
It’s easy to take public transport all the way to the manor using either Uppland and Stockholm city transport. For travel from Stockholm: Plan the trip on sl.se (Swedish), from Tekniska Högskolan to Rånäs Slott. To travel from Uppsala: Plan the trip on sl.se (Swedish), from Uppsala Centralstation to Rånäs Slott.
